In Russia, the number of views of Telegram channels by the end of the first week of blocking fell by 76.5%. Such data leads the company Medialogy, which analyzed the behavior in the messenger during the week from April 16 to 23.
"On April 23, the number of views in Telegram (by all channels) decreased by 76.5% compared to the day of the beginning of the blocking on April 16," the message said.
As for the Top 100 Telegram channels, the number of views in them dropped by 23% by the end of the first week. In general, the audience lost entertainment channels dedicated to music, humor, travel, hobbies: they got rid of 30% to 50% of views.
It was noted that the news channels were much less affected (drop to 25%).
"The socio-political and economic channels feel more stable," the company said.
Recall Tagansky court in Moscow on April 13 decided to block Telegram in Russia on the suit Roskomnadzor. The reason was the denial of the messenger to fulfill the duty imposed on him by the law to provide the FSB with the keys to decrypt user correspondence.
Telegram founder Pavel Durov stated that he considers this requirement of the law incompatible "with the protection of privacy and the privacy policy" of the messenger. On April 16, Roskomnadzor began to restrict access to the program.
